The type of personal information we collect 

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers, for example: name, email and/or other contact details. 

  • We might also collect additional personal information that’s voluntarily shared with us, e.g. via email, or as part of a survey or form.

How we get this personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information that we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • To sign up to our newsletter

  • To sign up for an event 

  • To create an account on our website 

  • When voluntarily filling out an online form or survey

  • To contact us directly using the contact details on our website  

  • To contact us via our social media accounts (e.g. Instagram or Facebook). 

 

We also receive personal information indirectly, via the following methods in the following scenarios: 

  • Google Analytics (in anonymisation mode). This is a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. We use it to measure only anonymous behaviour on the website, e.g. the number of event RSVPs or page visits. We use the information that you have given us in order to: 

  • send you administrative information and/or materials that you’ve requested, e.g. our newsletter or information on how to volunteer with us

  • enable you to access an event you’ve registered for and to share updates about upcoming events

  • respond appropriately to your request, e.g. replying to questions that you may have

  • request and collect feedback

  • correspond via email, where appropriate

  • enforce our Terms & Conditions and policies, respond to any legal requests and/or prevent harm on the website

  • enable you to create an account on the website and gain access to relevant services

  • operate and improve the website and related Feminists of_ services. 

 

We may share this information with the following third parties that supply us with a service:

  • Wix - our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to offer our services. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our organisation adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. Please find their Privacy Policy here

  • Google Workspace - which we use for GSuite, Docs and Sheets. We have internal policies in place to minimise personal data being stored here. Please find Google’s Privacy Policy here and their GDPR notice here

  • Slack - which we use for any internal communication required to deliver our service to you. Please find their Privacy Policy here.

 

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  1. Your consent. You are, however, able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting: hello@feministsof.com 

  2. We have a legitimate interest - in rare cases, and where a Legitimate Interest Assessment (LIA) has been carried out. 

How we store your personal information 

Your information is securely stored on Google’s secure servers. More information on their certificates and data centres can be found here: Google: Security and Trust Centre.

Your personal data may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (”EEA”).

We only keep your personal data for as long as we actually need it. In practice this means that we will keep:

 

For up to 3 years: 

  • email, live chat and ‘contact form’ correspondence;

 

For up to 6 years: 

  • complaint records;

  • any contact details shared and a record of the services we provided to you, for up to 6 years after closing your account, or using the website where an account is not required;

 

For up to 20 years: 

  • your contact details, where provided to subscribe to receive news on our website;

  • your name and contact details when commenting on the website.

 

After this point, we will dispose of your information manually, in line with our internal deletion policy. 

Please note that we may anonymise your personal data or use it for statistical purposes. We keep anonymised and statistical data indefinitely but we take care to ensure that such data can no longer identify or be connected to any individual.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights that include the following:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. 

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. 

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. 

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we will endeavour to respond to you within one month.
